OUR INITIATIVES.

In-class ASSISTANCE & tutoring

We are always exploring new ways we can share our time and talents to support under-resourced schools in our community. At many schools, parent involvement is low and many kids are struggling to meet grade-level standards. We’ve been serving in several classrooms on a regular basis and are looking to move to the next phase by mobilizing as many as we can to work on reading and math activities with small groups of students.

The village project

Through our partnership with Ypsilanti Community Schools, we provide weekly, in-school mentoring for students impacted by incarceration.

Teacher Appreciation

Whether we use bacon, eggs, and homemade muffins or a few hours spent in the back of the classroom, we want to support our friends on the front lines of education.

fun fridays

Our outdoor events are filled with games, crafts, and activities. We serve families by providing entertainment for the kids and a night out for parents. This is a great opportunity for new volunteers to get involved.

Welcoming our International Neighbors.

Through social gatherings, language partners and good old-fashioned hospitality, we want to help our international neighbors settle in, find their way, learn the language and find a place in the mosaic of our community.

Summer Day Camps.
